The city of Boulder on behalf of the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County (ECCBC) has received a three year grant from the Colorado Department of Human Services to support the diverse needs of the children, families and early care and education providers especially in "at risk" communities within Boulder County. The project seeks to enablel children, families and early care and education providers and schools to be more prepared/ready for school.
This project includes six childcare centers and homes that will participate in 3 annual quality ratings conducted by Qualistar Early Learning. ECCBC provides funding and technical assistance for quality improvement and ratings improvement.
Boulder County Public Health, Child Health Promotion and The Mental Health Center Serving Boulder and Broomfield Counties, Child Development Team are key partners in the project that provides child care providers with resources and support needed to excel in quality improvement. Project Period: July 1, 2006 – June 30, 2009

Goal #1.
The quality of the learning environment in participating child care facilities supports the school readiness of children. Goal #2.
Parent and family members are involved in activities designed to enhance the school readiness of their children.
Goal #3.
Providers, teachers and administrators have knowledge and skills in fostering school readiness and strengthening indicators of a learning organization. Goal #4.
Children have access to services and supplies that support optimal health and well-being.
Goal #5.
The concept of continuous quality improvement as a priority in child care is promoted in Boulder County.
